Editorial Reviews:
Affiliate marketing is a highly profitable online advertising method in which Web site merchants pay independent third parties to promote the products or services of an advertiser on their Web site. In other words, affiliate marketing involves posting a company s banner on your Web site or blog and attempting to send visitors to their Web site. If someone clicks on that banner or goes to that site and buys something, you will be paid a commission. While some affiliates pay only when a sale is made, some selling big ticket items like cars, credit cards, travel, and so forth have modified the model and pay for qualified leads. Affiliate marketing is now viewed as a key component of a company's online marketing strategy. Affiliate marketing is an advertising technique that originally was developed by Amazon.com. In this new book you will learn how to master the art and science behind affiliate marketing in a matter of hours. By investing a few dollars you can easily increase the number of visitors to your Web site and significantly increase sales. If you want to drive high quality, targeted traffic to your site, there is no better way than affiliate marketing. Since you only pay when a sale is made, your marketing dollars are being used more effectively and efficiently compared to any other advertising method. Customer Reviews:
I highly recommend this book Jan 24, 2010
I just got finished reading Affiliate Marketing on the Web. Having been in the Internet Marketing business for almost 10 years, I must say that this was one of the best books I've read on Affiliate Marketing from both the merchant's and publisher's side. If you are looking for a book that gives you specific recommendations and pros and cons on which type of affiliate program you are seeking to deploy or participate in, this is the book for you!
Not Very Organized Jan 18, 2010
Although this book has some good information beware that the author flips back and forth indiscriminately between people who want to be affiliate marketers and people who want to be affiliates which can be very confusing. I also find that he can be somewhat repetitive. Other then that he does provide some good information I just wish it was organized better.
I Like It, But... Nov 22, 2009
I just received this book in the mail not too long ago, and although I haven't been able to put it down I find the organization a little confusing. I am very new to affiliate marketing. I mean, I know how to use HTML, blog, etc but I am no techie. I can follow directions without a problem, but what I find confusing about the book is that the author goes back and forth with information for individuals who want to become affiliates (and sell other people's products) and individuals who have products to sell (who are considering enlisting affiliates to sell for them) and for a newbie it gets confusing. I admit that even when I was trying to figure out if I should buy the book I couldn't really figure out who it was for. I would rather deal with one side or the other at a time in one book, but not both.
There are some things that are confusing to a newbie such as "affiliate tracking" that isn't clearly explained, but (I'm old school) I have noticed that it is typical of writers in this day and age to assume that the readers understand most everything the author is talking about. Even when I took web design classes at a local college the instructors assume ALL students are millenials (I'm a gen X) and will not explain in more detail unless asked.
Though I like the book and would recommend it, I have been on the hunt basically for an instruction manual (haven't found one yet and don't think I will in this day and age). But the author does give good info about getting into affiliate marketing on both sides. Though I recommend it, it won't be the last book I buy.

Superb Affiliate Marketing Book - Comprehensive, Top Choice Aug 12, 2009
This is my favorite affiliate management book, because it covers a lot of tips and new content for those of us who are managing/leading affiliate driven businesses. What I like best about this book is how comprehensive and specific it is, and the new content that I haven't seen elsewhere in other affiliate marketing how-to resources.
This book gets my top marks for affiliate marketing how-to's, it has dozens of tactics that go beyond the basics and serves a a superb blueprint for affiliate marketing "how to" strategies.
Well done, and thanks very much -- this was a very useful (and now dog-eared!) book. I'll actually use it during implementation, launch and followup of my sites' affiliate networks.
Thanks,
Ken Calhoun
